Archery Hunts - Late September through January This is a representation of the kind of buck we have here. These are only some I have shot over the past 8 years or so. They range from a 17 inch spread to a 23 inch spread and are 4x4 and 5x5 racks. The rut in this area starts around a week before Thanksgiving. The rifle season usually starts the weekend after Thanksgiving. I think the best time for you to get a big buck would be the week or two before rifle season.
